Review: The Stand-In: my life as an understudy

The Stand-In: my life as an understudy The Stand-In: my life as an understudy by Elizabeth Stevens
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Stand-in to leading lady ...

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

**** I did slap a few spoilers; into this review didn’t know I would.... but I did.... because. I had too...

I liked this book; it was a little different. But also good; I liked the fact that Eli like Chloe over her evil-Ella sister “Ella... because that girl was horrible and her (Chloe) parents were more up Ella behind rather than caring about what Chloe wanted to do and what made her happy. Chloe had her grandma and her aunt and Ella had their parents. Their parents only paid attention to Chloe when she went to the dance with her friends.

Plus; I was glad when Elijah wrote that song and the other song about her... to prove to Ella that he didn’t want her he wanted her younger sister. I felt like Chloe changed Eli for the better. Because he was a man-w****... and that wasn’t good for how old he was especially when you get up in the age... you be played out! But I was waiting on her to finally admit that she wanted to be with Elijah she didn’t really get on my nerves about Eli and her feelings. I just wanted her to stop pretending and stop following and doing everything her sister wanted her to do. I was glad; when she finally became who she wanted and didn’t want to be the shadow of her sister the “stand-in” she finally came out of her shell... and became Chloe Cowan and not Ella Cowan the person who treated her like crap and everyone thought she was from a distance...

I liked how everyone half of the people anyways figures out that Chloe was the nicer sister, and Ella was the evil sister. I had to laugh at the end when Eli sang that song for Chloe in front of everyone including her sister and then in the auditorium when Ella told her not to kiss Eli, and she (Chloe) did... I was like about time girl you don’t care about what your sister thinks, and she kissed him too.... & finally got the guy & wasn’t a stand-in you look at it Chloe was actually the leading lady, she just didn’t see it for herself and didn’t see she was beautiful and guys and others liked her whereas her sister was just a horrible person. That half of year twelve which I believe in American is twelfth grade knew Ella was evil...

Review: Hard Place

Hard Place Hard Place by Emily Goodwin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

****Splashing around with the spoilers in this review****

Dude .... but before I get into it... I got this book as an ARC. But I’ve just read it like after it came out because I was reading something completely different...

But.... dude... I’m never disappointed when I read Emily Goodwin romance books. Like it had me wanting to know what happens next. That’s how good it was.

Plus that Max guy was a little creepy though. In my mind, I think “Max” is Michael, the kid's father. But I cannot wait for book two “Hard Truth” to come out October 3rd so I can find out what truly happened...

But back to the beginning; I had to laugh at both Alex and Harper because he was her boss, and she was his assistant. They were mean to each other during orientation for his nephew first day and her twins first day of kindergarten. & learning they worked together was priceless. Though deep down, they both had a thing for one another but kept denying their feelings for each other. Through the fake hate, they had for one another. But all that changed when they went on that “kind” of the business trip..... though Kate help with that plus.....

He got them in that situation for helping out Harper from them mean moms which I liked because those women were horrible. The worse kind is the ones who spend their man's money and bash the women who work for what they got. Those women didn’t know what hard work was while taking care of kids. Then what was Bad they tried ruining the kids fun time during school... like who in their right mind would get rid of slides (playground) smh 🀦🏽‍♀️ crazy...

But in the end Alex helped Harper out when it came to Mindy or whatever Pepto-Bismol name was with the pink pants suit... clearly you cannot wear pink on pink just horrible with a hairspray (the movie) hairstyle... but anyways I hope 🀞 in book two that Alex and Harper figure things out and Alex gets to tell her how he feels and how he wants her to be his girlfriend... but one thing for sure Michael (God I hate this name; it’s EVERYWHERE) better not mess things up for them. Because I want Alex and Harper together and in the end, she moves out of the projects and moves into his penthouse. While also being pregnant with his baby because I don’t think they use protection...

Review: Forever Yours

Forever Yours Forever Yours by Judy Corry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Pretty good read...

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

*** There are spoilers here and there****

I had to go down memory land to figure out where Jace and Logan came from I don’t know why I thought they were from a Christmas book. But I did realize that Logan was from the book with Raven... because they did that Christmas event together and she didn’t like him like that she was more into Jace rather than Logan.... when it came to Olivia I’m like ahhh more details into what happened with Jace point of view. Rather than Raven and Logan point of view because Raven did thought it was Logan for a chance. But finding out that Jace had lipstick on his lips when he went to talk to Alyssa was crazy...

I mean, I wanted her to forgive him because he did like her, but how could he think that she would’ve forgiven him when he had Olivia lipstick on his lips. But it’s a good thing that her best friend Raven help Jace get Alyssa back with also the help of his twin brother and they doing the switch-a-roo thing again. But they did have her for a minute or two because she clearly thought she was talking and dancing with Logan until she figured out that it was Jace.

Not only that it’s a good thing that she forgave Jace because he clearly wasn’t like Trey who cheated on Alyssa and didn’t even care about her feelings only cared about winning a bet.. plus I knew he probably remembered a lot of things especially when he was talking to Alyssa than Jace... I’m like hmm this boy more likely remembered everything that happened. Plus I thought it was karma that goes him, but clearly, he didn’t learn anything after the accident because he was clearly the same person he always been especially when he had all those ex-girlfriends after Kaela...

Btw: I want a story with their friend Rachel and maybe the guy Ky Miller because that’ll be an interesting story because she clearly hates the guy...

Review: Handle With Care

Handle With Care Handle With Care by Helena Hunting
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

*I pop through with a lot of spoilers throughout my review****•

Ohh I am so happy that I got to read this book. Because I was counting the days until it’s released date. & I can say I wasn’t disappointed at all. But learning that Lincoln and Armstrong had a half-sister was a surprise. But I also figure something was up with their mom and it wasn’t really their father who was the bad parent. Their mother is clearly a horrible woman and took Lincoln to get rid of her. & Armstrong gets his ways from his mom, especially when she let him get by with things no matter what he did. I believe his mom also made their dad swipe Armstrong behavior under the rug. Because she did it when it came to his ex-fiancΓ©e who he cheated on at their wedding, I was glad she left him for his cousin who was a better man than him.

Though; having their sister Hope there to tame Armstrong is a blessing. I am hoping the author end up writing a book about Armstrong even though he has a pencil-di** as well as Hope because I want to see if he’ll actually change and become a better person because he doesn’t have any custody of the baby he had with Imgeon or whatever how you spell her name. I just want to see if he’ll change his creepy ways and how he speak to women he needs a woman like Wren because I felt like a woman who can smack Armstrong down a couple of notches would be good for him. Especially if their mom isn’t around anymore with her hungry money ***.

But in my mind, I think their dad probably died from having sex with Hope mom, that’s how he ended up with that heartache that led to him dying on the way to the hospital. Not only that their mom Gwendolyn clearly didn’t care about what Lincoln did when he was out there helping build things and helping other countries. He did more labor and hard work to help people more than she (Gwen) did including Armstrong who was too uptight to ride the subway πŸš‡.... unlike Lincoln who wanted too.

Lincoln is a way better person than Armstrong though. Especially when it comes to his personality among other things like what he wears and what the public thinks. Armstrong needs a lot of help, and I do wonder if he’ll ever get it because I believe he has a mental health issue.....

But like I said I am hoping that Armstrong (needle di**) end up with a book, along with their sister Hope and even Dani (Wren best friend) who knows Dani may can tame Armstrong, but I don’t think she’s the right person for him. But I do wonder if it’ll be the sixth book to this series.

Review: Don't Trust the Impostor

Don't Trust the Impostor Don't Trust the Impostor by Victorine E. Lieske
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Awesome read

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

***¥•• I splash a bunch of spoilers throughout this review•••*^^^^¥¥

This book was awesome. I didn’t know I was 63% done until I had looked. I was like WOW I’m halfway finished with this book and didn’t realize I was. It’s different when you read books with longer words writing in one chapter. “I think that’s the says” lol!

But anyway, it’s interesting to know that Destiny found out about that BET well more so Eli taking money from Jack the wack job! Towards the ending of the book. Because I was like when is she going to learn what happened and why Jack and Eli be sneak talking! But clearly Destiny couldn’t see the LIGHT until Eli came in the picture because without Eli; 9 out of 10 she would’ve been with Jack. If he didn’t break up with her first; or that girl that Jack was dating didn’t come forward and snitch on him about his cheating!

Lord knows I was HAPPY when she broke it off with Jack; especially when learning, he was with another girl when she called to break up with him. Plus when she found out about Eli and the money; and him helping Jack get rid of her. I was like she better forgives Eli because Jessica (her cousin) forgave her for taking/cheating with her ex-boyfriend Jack. Who by the way was a piece of crap even Jessica in her book; told Destiny, Jack wasn’t any good.. at least Destiny met Eli through Jessica and ended up actually happy.

I do hope that Eli ended up getting his dog back, but the author never mentioned anything else about his dog or them getting a house or apartment that accepts animals. But I am so ready to read the book with Cole and Amanda.. because she’s so clueless about Cole feelings; though she has feelings for him on the DL.

Review: Tomboy

Tomboy Tomboy by Avery Flynn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

***There's a few spoilers thrown around here and there in this review*****

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

This book was awesome. I loved the Fallon is what Zack definitely needed, especially when it came to trusting and removing those walls he builds up around his heart. It’s funny how they already met, but up until he got sick they decided that they wanted each other. But you look at it you can know someone forever and once you two get together and hang out a connection happens. That is what happened with Zack and Fallon. Her parents and siblings already knew that Fallon and Zack were dating before they both figured it out which was kind of funny.

Plus; I understood why Fallon told those reporters what really happened between Zack and his stank bucket parents. Because for one he wouldn’t have done anything about it; which I thought was stupid his teammates would’ve cared and wanted to be around him regardless of his fuck-ups especially when it came to them losing. But you look at it all that crap on Zack mind with his parents is what messed up his focus along with when it got out about that fake crap his parents put out about his where they (Ice Knights) had a hard winning the game... but in the end I was glad that they ended up locked away for what they did they were some piece of crap.

I think a lot needs to be looked into younger kids - teenagers deals and contracts because people be taking their money. I am like Zack, “trust no one”...

But in the end everything came out good for him he got the loved that he needed from his teammates, Fallon and even Lucy. Including a baby.... and marriage., but what was funny was when they both wanted to ask each other about “will you marry me” 🀣 she had the ring in the muffins he Hhatesand he had the ring In his pocket...

Review: The Game You Play

The Game You Play The Game You Play by L.A. Cotton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

****Spoilers; but not that many****

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

I got to read this early before it’s released on September 17th... I got an ARC for an honest review.

& I will say this after reading book two and especially the ending I just had to read book two and was wishing it came out earlier than September but then got my chance actually to read it before the release date.

I can say I wasn’t disappointed at all only problem I had was with Lewis; he was just horrible like the hate he had for Jace was ridiculous. & to top it off he still LOSE regardless because of what Jenny (I really don’t care to remember her name) 🀣 I think it’s Jenna but back to what I was saying the things he and Jenna did was horrible especially when he tried to out Jace and Flick with those pictures that Jenna took of them at the lake.

Just because of what Jace did to Amiee which did forgive him for because of how she made him turn out to be. But he became a better person when he got with Felicity. She made him a better person. I also glad that Felicity followed her own dreams rather than following her parent's dreams.

Not only that I was glad when Jason realize his feelings; though he pushes her away to protect her. But still, in the end, the piece of crap Tracker dust, still knew he had feelings for Felicity because of Tracker dust side trash. But in the end, I was like FINALLY Jason you figured it out and wanted to be with the girl, even by protecting her when it came to the pictures, but also felt bad for Asher, though he was the one that decided to take the fall. But with the help of Maya, I don't think it'll be too bad, especially when he plays for college football team once they graduate.

P.S. I can't wait for Asher and Maya story......Book #3

Review: Muffin Top

Muffin Top Muffin Top by Avery Flynn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

**I splash a lot of spoilers maybe some straight facts too through this review***

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

This book was good, but half the time I got annoyed because Lucy was getting on my last nerve. About how she this big girl and no guy would go for a big girl... I kept rolling my eyes because I am like she needs to embrace being this big forget what people say about you. Love the person; you are no matter if you are BIG or SMALL! Even though this is fiction, people go through a weight problem every day. Just like you could be a person who is skinny here come to this person trying to bring you down because you aren't a BIGGER size. That's what people was doing to Lucy; they were trying to bring her down because she wasn't a SMALLER size.

Reading this, I am like girl please shut up. Because for one, a skinny woman goes through the same thing. I never understood how someone of a bigger size end up made the smaller size women whereas if someone of a smaller size say "you fat" they get mad but don't realize you can't say omg you "need to eat" doesn't affect someone of a smaller size because they aren't bigger bone.

I agreed with Frankie about Lucy didn't need to eat a salad just because some pop belly flip basket wanted her to when he wasn't even attractive and try to come for her. But I did want to smack her sideways because she kept whining about how Frankie didn't like her; when technically he actually liked her maybe even loved her but she was so offensive and guarded it took her a while to understand "while this man actually does care about me no matter my size"... because for one I also realized why Frankie was the man-whore from learning what his dad did when he was a teenager than keeping that crap balled up inside could affect someone and their relationship. Same thing when it came to Lucy and her parent's relationship it affects Lucy, plus with her bullying from Constance. Who I think was a crap pop because she was clearly a mean person. Rather being a nice person to Lucy; knowing that she "Constance" was going to chemotherapy, I believe it was when she was a teenager. I never think someone would be so cruel when going through something like that... I still think instead of herself being an evil B-witch she could've followed her dreams eventually after things got better for her instead of having a hard-on and hating Lucy from teenagers to adulthood, but at least she did apologize to Lucy for being an evil B-witch!!!

Plus she literally annoyed when they went to be a bar for Frankie brother engagement... like she got mad at him when those idiot cops said: "fat-chicks-are-crazier-in-bed" like a girl her your life... Frankie doesn't think that... I can't wait until I'm done with this book... Lucy pass, annoying! But in the end, it's good that they both came to an understanding they both was wrong; though Lucy was the one that pushes Frankie away before they could form a relationship. Whereas Frankie just was holding on to old feelings about Becky and his dad Frankie Sr. Which is good that he got the truth from his father and twin-brother Finn about his father didn't kiss Becky; she kissed him and then apologize to Katie > who is Frankie mom!

But I'm waiting on a book with Tess and Finn!!! I just have to have a book with them!

The Ruthless Boys The Ruthless Boys by C.M. Stunich
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ruthless boys

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

*** There's spoilers; but not many*****

Bruh that ending is so annoying stay leaving cliffhangers every time. Then I hate where there are no preorders for the next book...

Plus I figured something might have been up with Church. I mean clearly; he was kind of psycho... but who even knows, because he may be doing self-defense and was trying to save himself or Charlotte. I'll find that out in book three whenever it comes out.

I also don't like her dad... because he fulls dog poop. Because for one he was acting weird as heck when it comes to his daughter and the murders that are going on. Not only that I think the Church may know more than he let on so who knows until we get to book three.

Clearly, she's now dating four of the guy's mines Church, but I am hoping she'll end up with Spencer as her full-blown boyfriend ONLY. Knowing her, she may end up with all 5 of them or just four...

I can't wait to find out what really going to happen next in book three. & what will they (Ranger, Twins & Spencer along with Charlotte) find out!

I also think the people at the place Charlotte at more likely going to find out she's a girl too, especially when she wet. But I want to know who was chasing her was it the killer or Church weird self!

Review: Engaged to Mr. Perfect: An Accidental Marriage Romance

Engaged to Mr. Perfect: An Accidental Marriage Romance Engaged to Mr. Perfect: An Accidental Marriage Romance by Lilian Monroe
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It was good!!!

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

****Spoilers; just a little bit....****

Ahhh. I like this book. It was kind of annoying though it was funny. Annoying meaning “marriage in Vegas when they were drunk” that’s like every author goes too. It’s pretty annoying when it comes to that storyline... but I was glad that the book was still good even though the marriage crap was ridiculous... but what came out of their Vegas trip was Andrew and Meghan ruining Meg sister wedding it was hilarious when the dove poop on her sister Nadine or whatever he name is head. That was priceless.

I thought that Nadine actually deserved it; because clearly, you could see that Meg family disliked her regardless of her being a sugar daddy when she was young in college to her being a physical therapist as an adult. They didn’t want to work anything out. & it’s ridiculous how they wanted her own dove duty when they didn’t like her to begin with... with her family being evil villains I said at least she’ll have Andrew family who shows love and show that they cared... you see that his mom didn’t disown him for what he did when he was young and in college when he told her over the phone.

But at least they got themselves clear of Hannah trying to ruin both of their lives.. that girl clearly had a problem, and bipolar mental illness isn’t a joke... at least Andrew hot is 2.1 million back and Hannah got the help that she needed...

Review: The Garden

The Garden The Garden by Amy Sparling
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The gardens • πŸŒΏπŸŒΌπŸπŸ‚

https://ladiikeiii.wordpress.com/2019...

****Throwing spoilers throughout this review ****

This book was really good. It took me maybe three days; maybe two to finish it... it’s like the book twelfth Knight (meaning; I finish it really fast) but anyways. I was glad that Declan came to his senses and realized that he shouldn’t hide from Sophia, knowing that he actually liked her. Also; with her speaking up for herself when it came to her parents was also good. Being a trust fund kid; can have its perks and also be hard, especially if your parents are controlling your every move.

But with Sophia moving to New England; and going to boarding school actually helped her to become a better person. Not only that she realize those friends of hers in Malibu wasn’t really a real friend as Declan and Belle were to her. Because clearly everybody didn’t reach out to her once she left... Plus; those students in her school was wack though since neither of them wanted to get to know her; because of a creep like Chad who in the end ended up getting into trouble with selling pills...

Not only that she also helped her cousin with her anxiety if it wasn’t for Sophia, but I also don’t think Belle would’ve left her room the way she did when Sophia mentions the gardens. The gardens actually helped both Sophia and her cousin Bella and also good that she thought college was an option for her, especially since she didn’t care for it when she was in Malibu.

I did like how Sophia got Declan family their garden back by talking to her parents, and using her trust fund is a good way to help her boyfriend. But at least her mom said she’ll get it back eventually. But I doubt Sophia cared lol.
